"Just an update re. Poppy, now Juniper, Junie for short, and, affectionately, Chunkster, Fluffnugget, and Wigglebutt :) Junie is such a good girl! She's only had two accidents in the house so far, which were completely my fault for not taking her outside at the right time. She always goes potty when we go outside, and is quickly learning to sit for treats/food/water/opening doors etc. Crate training has been a little rough, so for now I'm sleeping on the couch (where she can see me) and keeping the radio on low at night to comfort her. Junie has been super respectful of my cat (Fern) and the cat is starting to accept her; Fern even let Junie lick her nose today! Junie is a delight to everyone who meets her and isn't fearful of new things, including loud noises (motorcycles, lawnmowers), people (even shrieking children!), or household sounds (dishwasher, TV noises). She plays hard and naps hard, which is perfect for me. We're still getting the hang of walking around the block, but I'm sure she'll be more into it as her little legs get a little longer! Tomorrow we're going to the vet for a preliminary visit and to schedule future vaccinations etc. I'll update pics (sorry they're all of her sleeping right now; when she's awake it's hard to get anything in focus!) and I added my roommate to the google album so she can see and upload pics as well. Thank you for sharing this amazing pup with me. I'm absolutely smitten and looking forward to years of adventures together! Best, Eiren |
